Dhari Devi Temple



About Dhari Devi
The temple of Dhari Devi is situated on a 20 meter high rock on the banks of river Alaknanda,15 kms. from Srinagar garhwal {Uttrakhand} . The Dhari Devi temple in has only the upper part of idol of Godess Dhari, the remaining lower part is situated in Kalimath. It is believed that the idols of Dhari Devi shall not be put under roof. So they are put under open sky.

History Of Dhari Devi
It is said that once upon a time the temple was washed in flood, and the idols of Dhari Devi sgot stuck against a rock, the local people found the idols as they heard the cries of the godess, the godess voice instraucted the people to made a temple on the same place. Since then the idols ar known as Dhari Devi.

By Train:
Nearest railway station is Rishikesh, which is 124 kms. from Dhari Devi. One has to travel by road to reach to Dhari Devi from Rishikesh.

By Road:
15 Kms. from Srinagar Garhwal.
124 Kms. from Rishikesh.
165 Kms. from Deharadun.
